Karen McLendon is the owner/manager at A Caring Manor I. She's been in the industry for over 38 years and was the first one to start a care home in Queen Creek in 1996 at the location that is today known as A Caring Manor II. When she moved into her current home 8 years ago, she took the name A Caring Manor I with her. Her daughter and son-in-law then took over at the original location and A Caring Manor II was born.
Karen's adult-only facility is quiet and peaceful with all the comforts of home. Each resident is made to feel welcome and included.
Her residents enjoy home cooked meals together at the table. Friends and family are welcome and encouraged to visit. Residents can even have their loved ones come for a meal with the whole group as long as at least 24 hours notice is given to assure there will be enough food to accommodate the guest(s).
Games and activities are available and encouraged to keep the residents as entertained and active as they can be.
Karen will consider allowing residents to bring their pets* and all service animals are welcome, however there are some guidelines that have to be followed. All pets must be groomed monthly, housebroken, well-behaved and there are some size/breed restrictions. Karen will discuss the specifics of that with you at intake. There is a resident cat who lives with at the home, so any pets brought into the home would have to be tolerant of other pets.
Each resident at A Caring Manor I has a private room with a bed, bedside table and TV. There are common areas where residents are encouraged to socialize with one another, but there is also private areas for when a resident has guests visit. Of course, the resident would also have the choice to relax quietly in the privacy of their own room.
This is an English speaking facility, but anyone regardless of ethnicity is welcome.
